Build a Parent Education Curriculum Around Your Group’s Needs
Use several connected caregiver sessions when families need time to understand a topic, practise a response and return with questions. SafeSEL’s five facilitator kits provide the materials for you to deliver that series: editable slides, timed guides, participant workbooks and activities. They are educational resources, not a treatment program or a course for the purchaser to attend.
The complete collection is $129.99 USD for one named facilitator. Compared with $199.95 for the five individual kits, that saves $69.96.
Choose a learning sequence, rather than five unrelated events
Begin with a question the group recognizes. If repeated arguments are the main concern, start with shared understanding of regulation and a practical response to escalation. Add ADHD or anxiety only when those topics match the families’ questions. Trauma-informed support needs particularly clear facilitation boundaries; it is not a final session that every group must complete.
A possible three-meeting pathway
- Understand the pattern. Use selected examples to distinguish what adults can observe from explanations they have not established. Agree one realistic learning goal.
- Practise an adult response. Revisit the first meeting’s example and rehearse brief language, a routine adjustment or a support plan. Use fictional cases and allow people to observe without role-playing.
- Review use and next steps. Discuss what was tried, what got in the way and which questions need individual support. Do not turn the review into a public assessment of a family.
This is a planning example, not a replacement run sheet for the full workshop. Review the guide for the kit you choose before changing the sequence or duration.
Select the topics your parent education series needs
Each topic has its own teaching purpose. A larger collection gives you options; it does not mean every participant should receive every workshop.
| Workshop topic | Family question | Materials and price |
|---|---|---|
Supporting Children with ADHD | How can we make routines and instructions easier to follow? | Editable slides, facilitator guide, participant workbook and activities · $39.99 USD |
Managing Anger, Meltdowns and Aggression | What can we prepare before escalation, and how do we repair afterwards? | Editable slides, facilitator guide, participant workbook and activities · $39.99 USD |
Emotional Regulation in Children | How can adults support feelings while keeping a clear limit? | Editable slides, facilitator guide, participant workbook and activities · $39.99 USD |
Helping Children with Anxiety | How do we respond to worry without turning every discussion into reassurance? | Editable slides, facilitator guide, participant workbook and activities · $39.99 USD |
Trauma-Informed Support for Children | How can we make everyday support safer, more predictable and respectful? | Editable slides, facilitator guide, participant workbook and activities · $39.99 USD |
Carry one practical goal between sessions
At the end of a meeting, invite participants to choose a small voluntary step. At the next meeting, offer a neutral question such as “What made that step easier or harder?” Avoid collecting identifiable stories in a group evaluation. Give families a way to ask private questions without promising individualized advice inside the workshop.
Prepare the slides and participant pages together. Print the pages required for that session, check reading demands and agree how questions will be handled. Build in breaks and a predictable ending. Use the existing parent education workshop planning guide for room preparation, accessibility and follow-up.
When one kit is the better purchase
Buy a focused kit when you have one clearly defined topic and a single delivery plan. Choose the complete collection when you expect to facilitate several different topics over time. Both choices still require preparation, professional judgment and the appropriate license.
Questions about the curriculum collection
What do the five kits cover?
The collection covers ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation, anger and meltdowns, and trauma-informed support. Each topic has slides, a facilitator guide, participant workbook and practical tools.
Is this a fixed program every family must complete?
No. This is a collection of facilitator materials. Select topics and a sequence for the group, review each guide, and preserve the scope and safety boundaries.
Does the collection include a course I can attend?
No. You receive editable workshop kits to deliver yourself. Live teaching, recorded instruction, clinical supervision and CE or CPD accreditation are not included.
Can I deliver a shorter series?
Use the included guide to decide what can be adapted responsibly. The full kits have an eight-hour format including breaks; a short meeting is not equivalent to completing that format.
Can several staff members share one purchase?
The standard license is for the named facilitator. Additional facilitators or organization-wide use require an appropriate additional license. Review the licensing page before sharing any source files.
