Social problem-solving scenarios for elementary students
Problem-solving worksheets can turn a broad question into a sequence: identify the difficulty, consider choices and choose a next step. In one example, two children want the same materials for different projects. Ask what each needs before suggesting a solution. Problem-solving cards provide more situations to discuss. These are social decision-making activities, not maths word-problem exercises or a test with one correct response.

The Problem Solving Steps Worksheet provides a sequence for identifying a problem, considering choices, predicting outcomes and choosing a next step.
